Fun with your Fitness
Hey everyone,
Here's a fun little video featuring 2014 CrossFit Games champion, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet. She obviously spends a lot of time in the gym, but as this video (humourously) shows, you can use your fitness outside the gym too.
This is a bit of an extreme example of course but it does hint at the fact that strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness are useful in the "real" world.
With the upcoming Open, we're honing in our CrossFit - specific skills, but once that's done with, we're going to expand the programming a bit to incorporate new and different challenges. This will give you a good break from the tough competition style exercises while pushing your fitness in new and broader directions.
But first, the Open!
Training Wednesday - Thursday
Warm-up:
Skill: Butterfly Kip or Regular Kip practice
5 sets, of 6-16 reps of your choice of movement, going E90s. This is a short timer so choose an appropriate number of reps. You may also work on drills as opposed to full pullup reps.
WOD: EMOM 10
This wod is meant to have you practice vital skills under a little bit of fatigue, just like the EMOMs that we have been doing. The only difference this time is that you will do all rounds of each movement prior to moving on. Focus on quality reps with no extra movements - be as efficient as possible! No score, just fitness practice.
Rx: EMOM: 5 rounds of each of the following movements (in a row), no rest in between -
10 KBS
10 box jumps
12 StO
6-12 ttb
20 seconds of double unders
TG: Step ups, double crunch, singles
FG: Hanging knee raise
