Regional Fundraising 2017

Hey Vic City,

As you all know by now, Vic City will be sending two individual athletes and team to compete in the West Regionals, which is held in Portland, at the start of June. As a group we have sacrificed a lot to achieve this level of fitness. The trip will last five days, including four nights in a hotel/Airbnb. Even with carpooling and room sharing to try to best reduce costs, the expenses won’t be small.

In past years, we have had some incredible generosity from our friends, family, and community, which have helped us offset some of these costs, and helped the athletes focus on the competition. This year we have a few fundraising efforts, to help once again.

We have set up a “GoFundMe” page, and the donations have already started to roll in. All the money raised will be equally split between the athletes that have to travel to Portland. If you would like to donate, click here.

I mentioned before in a blog about a potential movie night, well, that’s happening. Come out on May 7th at 4pm, that’s a Sunday, to enjoy a screening of the latest Fittest on Earth Documentary, titled "Fittest on Earth: A Decade of Fitness". Tickets will be $15, and is open to the public. If you know anyone that may be interested in this film, don’t hesitate to inform them. It should be a great event, and a sneak peak at the level that these Regional athletes are trying to achieve.

Finally, later in May, plan on a workout and BBQ event similar to what we had last year. Time and date for that is still being figured out. What’s better than a workout and food? Nothing, really, maybe only doing it with a bunch of friends and supporting a good cause at the same time.

As always, any support is much appreciated and goes a long way. The Regionals isn’t just a weekend of competition, it’s a combination of months and even years of training and dedication.

Thank you again for your support and generosity. I hope to see you at our events, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me, Facebook message is probably best, and I’ll be glad to help.

Cheers,

Adam
