So much anticipation! The 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games is set to kick off this Wednesday and there are still many unknowns about the challenges the athletes will face!
A few events have been released so far, including a couple of classic benchmark tests - 30 muscle ups for time and the CrossFit Total (1rm deadlift, press, and back squat). There have been hints for other events also, with one clue simply being a picture of a Trek road bike... so who knows what that could be??
One event that looks both incredibly cool and grueling, is Event 5, called "The Battleground". This is a combination of many different abilities as it is an extended aerobic effort with an obstacle course, rope climbs, and dummy drags mixed in... all while wearing a weight vest. Check out the video below, they're definitely making use of all the space the venue in Madison has to offer!

WARM-UP: 400m jog, then 2 rounds of 10 double crunch, 10 pushups, 10 lunges
SKILL: FRONT SQUAT 6 X 3 E2M
Build from 3-4 weeks ago, aim for a NEW 3 rep max at the end of the build up!
Not only the acronym for Branched Chain Amino Acids, BCAAs in this case refers to the order of the movements you'll experience as you go through this challenge!
Scale the barbell so that you can move quickly through in 2 sets for the cleans in most rounds.

Rx: 3 rounds for time: 5 bar hop burpees, 10 power cleans (95/135), 10/15 calorie Assault bike, 20 air squats
FG2: bar weight 65-75/95-115
FG1: regular burpees, scale power clean as needed
TG: Scale as needed
