At Home Competition!
Hey all,
CrossFit HQ just released information on an Open-style competition that is going to kick off this Friday April 3. It is called the Support Your Local Box competition and will run for three weeks.
It will be run just like the CrossFit Open with a full online leaderboard and options for scaling. As far as I can tell there may be options for full equipment and also with minimal (dumbbell or kettlebell).
The way that registration is set up is that you can choose to register for free or add any amount of money. Any money you do put forward for registration will go to the affiliate of your choice.
Now I want to mention that the amount of support we have had from you all has been outstanding and we in no way expect any more donations from you!
If you want to donate that is fantastic but we are just hoping that this will be a good motivator to get us all moving while cooped up a bit at home.
Here's the details right from CrossFit HQ:
The Support Your Local Box Fundraiser is a CrossFit event for the benefit of CrossFit affiliates affected by COVID-19 around the globe. The temporary closures and distance between us cannot keep this community apart. Affiliates around the world have demonstrated this through their actions over the past few weeks. Now, the entire CrossFit community has an opportunity to come together in support of our affiliates.
Event Format
Over a three-week period, CrossFit will release three classic and accessible workouts that can be performed by participants of any ability level. Everyone who participates will have their name displayed on the community leaderboard and will be able to create smaller leaderboards among friends, family, and other members of their affiliate using leaderboard hashtags. Registration is now open on games.crossfit.com/open and will remain open for the duration of the competition. The first workout will be released on Friday, April 3.
you can sign up to register HERE and registration is open until the last day of competition!
See you online soon!
